Victorian terraced house.
Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
RJR were tasked with the design and manufacture of replacement timber windows and doors at a 1870 terraced house in Worcestershire.
The home owner wanted to replace old plastic windows that were installed in the 1980's, and bring back the original look of the property with traditional timber sliding sash windows.
After an initial consultation, the decision was made to install 5 spring balanced sash windows, that have the advantage of tilting inwards for ease of cleaning, and have outstanding weather, noise, and thermal sealing. With these modern, high performance benefits, the windows still retain the original features of the period.
Also included in this project was an iroko entrance door with a white timber Victorian surround to restore the original character. Together with a more contempory set of iroko French doors and a casement window at the rear, the historical architecture of this Victorian town house was now complete.
